My Children & the Gospel

"Are we likening all of our children's gospel experiences to the real needs in their lives? Are we teaching them about the gift of the Holy Ghost, repentance, the Atonement, the sacrament, and the blessing of sacrament meeting as they meet the challenges in their lives? There is not enough time in formal meetings to teach our children everything they need to know. Therefore, we must take advantage of everyday teaching moments.

"These moments are priceless. They come when we are working, playing, and struggling together. When they come, the Spirit of the Lord can help us know what to say and help our children accept our teaching."
"With All the Feeling of a Tender Parent," Ensign, May 2004, 90,  Robert D. Hales

I am lucky enough to have some very amazing friends in our Ward. Some of them are the most amazing examples to me. I know that I need to be more consistent at teaching my children about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned that singing Primary songs is something so small, but so BIG. I have learned what kind of mother and wife I really want and need to be to my husband and children. These Mommy's know who they are, I try to let them know often. I know I am a great Mom, but I know that I can be so much more. My testimony wasn't as strong before being in this ward, probably not even that strong up until the last couple years. Being around these women has made me realize the more important things. I am going to make a better effort at reading the Children's Book of Mormon to my little ones every day. I want to make sure that they know how important the Gospel is to me and I know that I can be the example they need in their lives. Thanks to my amazing Mommy friends. I love you girls!

My kids were so proud of their work in primary today so I wanted to share.

Kaylie let me know she was NOT done coloring and would be finishing this picture.

Lucas has been in nursery for a little while now, but has just recently started to enjoy it. He is now so excited to share his art with us. This one is for sure his favorite so far!

  1. You are such a great mom! THank you for teaching all of us all that you do. Aimi Lark told us she needed to finish her boxes to color.
