Grandpa Rasmusson Obituary

Duane Seymour Rasmusson, 85, entered into the Lord’s presence Saturday, April 9, in Manteca, California, while surrounded by his loving family. 

Duane was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in many callings. He had a great passion for baseball and life and was a great example to everyone around him. He worked in bookkeeping for H.J. Heinz Company and retired after over 45 years of employment. 

Duane leaves behind his best friend and wife, Ada Rose, after 59 years of marriage. Duane is also survived by his 7 children, Colleen Dittfurth and husband Dale, Laura Rasmusson, Martin Rasmusson, Roger Rasmusson, Jill Gutierrez and husband Louie, Peter Rasmusson and wife Petra and Sally Alton. 

Duane was blessed with 21 grandchildren, Katie, Kristi, Ryan, Jason, Mark, Kevin, Mitchell, Cameron, Miles, Kira, Kyle, Brookelyn, Lane, Wyatt, Richard, Duane, Laurie, Joanna, and Michael and 16 great-grandchildren, Kendra, Kaylie, Lucas, Sawyer, Kade, Kellan, Aubrey, Brody, Justice, Elijah, Nick, Cody, Whitlee, Haylee, Rilee and Ellee, whom he loved and adored. In heaven he joins 2 grandchildren, Eric and Brittany.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1233 Northgate Dr. Manteca, CA 95336. The funeral program will follow at 11 a.m. 

Graveside dedication will take place after the funeral program at Park View Cemetery 661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, CA 95336.
