Kaylie's 4 month check up

Well I seem to have forgotten to write about how Kaylie's doctor's appointment went last Tuesday. She actually had an appointment with her orthopedic surgeon last Monday also. Ok so to start off with the appointment regarding her hips went ok. The doctor said that it was a little wierd though, last time he saw her, the right hip was developing better than the left...now it is opposite. He did move her hips around and he said everything seemed fine, but he wants to see her back in 3 months (September) when the ball on her femur turns to bone...it is still cartilage. He did say that she isn't going to have to wear a brace, but I guess we will just have to wait to see what happens when we go back in September.

As for her doctors appointment, that went just great...well sort of. Kaylie got her 4 month shots, which she didn't like. She actually didn't cry for the first 2, but started crying as she was doing the 3rd shot, but the 4th...she didn't like the nurse at all! But mommy made it all better when I picked her up. Kaylie remains around the 50th percentile for her age. She is now 23.5" long and weighs 12.5lbs. My sweet baby is growing up way too fast. The doctor thought it was good that we had started her on baby food already, but said to try some veggies...which from previous posts we know she likes carrots so far! Next week she gets to try green beans, but this week she is on bannanas. Yep, she likes the fruits ALOT! She started whining last night when I was feeding her bannanas because I wasn't feeding her fast enough.

Anyway, I just wanted to write really quick while Kaylie is asleep. She has been having a rough couple of days and I think it is because of her teething. She was crying all day today and I was finally able to put her to sleep while holding her on the couch watching TV. I was almost sure that when I layed her in bed she would wake up, but she has been asleep for over 2 hours now and I think she will be out for at least another hour or so...it could be because of the Tylenol I gave her also :)

  1. Hey Katie. Thanks for the update on Kaylie's ortho appointment. It' s funny because the same thing happened to Olivia where her right hip looked better at first and then it didn't look so good. I'm glad they are just watching it right now though and no big changes (brace) are taking place. Her little femur bone and hip socket will take quite awhile to develop to bone...Olivia's is still hardening.
    Love ya!
